Choosing a Skin
1) So the first of the two options if choose a skin form a Minecraft Skin database. These websites are a collection of Minecraft skins made by members of the public and fellow Minecraft players. A few good examples of these would be Skindex or you could also use Planet Minecraft, although Skindex is more commonly used. Once on these websites you can either type into the search if you are trying to look for something specific, or go to the "Most Recently Uploaded". Remember not to search for something TOO SPECIFIC or there might not be any results. Once you have downloaded it and located it in your Files or Finder, depending on your computer brand, skip to step 3).
2) The other option is, of course, make your own skin. This might sound very complex and as hard as making your own texture pack. If you have made your own skin before you may have used a programme such as Photoshop, Paint or even Paintshop Pro. If these are unavailable to you, I have found a great nifty new website designed for creating Minecraft skins, called Miners Need Cool Shoes. With this website, it gives you the ability to change every pixel of your Minecraft Player by using easy brush and fill tools. A great choice for those wanting to put something personal into theirMinecraft experience. Once downloaded and located go to step 3).
3) Okay and lastly step 3. This is the matter of actually changing your skin on your Minecraft Player. Firstly locate your new skin you have downloaded in your "Downloads" Folder. Then use this link: Minecraft.net and click on where it says profile at the top. Sign in like you would when loading up the game with the same IGN and Password. Once done you should see a button saying "Choose file". Click on this and then select the skin you have previously downloaded or created. MAKE SURE YOUR FILE IS IN .PNG FORMAT OR THIS WON'T WORK. Once chosen hit the "Upload" button. Congrats, you have just changed your Minecraft Skin and the next time you log into your game in Minecraft it will have changed.
