A lot of people have been asking me lately about towny commands. Many people dont really know the commands and perms so i decide to post a guide here.
Ok, first thing, you need at least more than 500 gold to start a town. Since you can get lots of money by voting, i dont see why you wont have enough money to start and keep the town going.
When you bought the class, go to build world and find a piece if land. MAYOR = 850 gold
1) /town new [town name] - this will create a town for a price of 100 gold with the name you insert, if you dont like the name, you can always change it by doing /town set name [town name]
2) /town deposit [amount] - this will deposit money into your town for buying plots and stuff.
3) /town claim - walk around and claim land for your town. Each plot is 12x12, not 15x15 and you require 25 gold for each plot. If you have claimed a plot that you do not want, do /town unclaim to unclaim it. You can build town structures or lets residents buy the plots for their houses. You can continue claiming plots up to the maximum as long as your town bank has enough money in it.
4) /towny map - this will show you the land that you have claimed for the town so you wont build in the wilderness and get griefed.
5) /town set taxes - sets an amount that will be collected from the residents every 24 hours. The taxes are for each plot, not for each resident, so if a resident has 2 plots, he must pay double the tax.
Permissions
The default permissions turns off all permissions for outsiders, but allows all permissions for your town residents, and allies. Allies can be members of other towns that belong to the same Nation as your town does.
Let's say that you want to also turn off all permissions for allies as well. This is the command format you'd use:
/town set perm [resident/ally/outsider] [on/off]
For example:
/town set perm ally off
/town set perm [outsider/ally/resident] [on/off] - sets the specified ranks permissions on or off.
/town set perm [outsider/ally/resident] [build/destroy/switch/item] [on/off] - sets the specified ranks specific ability on or off.
/town set perm [on/off] - sets the overall town perm off/on.
For example:
/town set perm resident build on - allows the resident to build in a specific plot.
Mayors/Assistants and Residents:
/town add [name] - this will send an invite to the user inviting them to town.
/town assistant add [name] - this will promote a resident into an assistant which can operate similar commands with mayors except for /town claim.
/town assistant remove [name] - you know
/town set mayor - gives mayor status to another person
Other Mayor Commands
/town set board [message] - this is displayed user players when they view your town details
/town set homeblock - This moves the central home block.
/town set spawn - this sets the spawn of the town
/town kick [playername] - To remove a resident from a town.
/town delete [town-name] - Delete a town.
/tc - changes chat mode to town
/town - shows the town details
/plot forsale [amount] - sets the plot forsale for the amount stated
/plot claim (resident) - to buy the plot that is for sale
